Our first two weeks at the Allan Hills are done!
Our team has fully arrived at our 2025-2026 deep field camp where they will spend the next six weeks drilling for multi-million year old ice and conducting a series of geophysical surveys of the area.

The NSF COLDEX 2025-2026 field team has made it to McMurdo Station! After a week’s worth of travel, trainings, and delays, the team has finally arrived in Antarctica, where they have been settling in and putting the final touches on their field camp deployment.

NSF COLDEX field team celebrates the new year in Antarctica
Before the holidays, we received two updates from our field team: one from T.J. Fudge, Science Team Co-Leader for the I-187 Team and Research Associate Professor at the University of Washington, and one from Bridget Hall, Science Team member and Master’s student at the University of Minnesota.
