Click here for information about finding graduate student positions for Fall 2024

Graduate students are included in all aspects of COLDEX science, including Antarctic field work, laboratory analysis, data processing, modelling, and knowledge transfer. All the listed positions are fully funded through COLDEX, additional positions may be available at partner institutions.

Students take classes and perform research at the individual institutions, but also participate in inter-disciplinary COLDEX-wide activities, meetings and seminars.

COLDEX values strong, inclusive mentoring and provides leadership and other professional development opportunities for students. As an interdisciplinary team, COLDEX is committed to maintaining a collaborative, inclusive, and equitable team culture and broadening participation of people from identities historically minoritized in the polar sciences. We strongly encourage applications from Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Queer, People with Disabilities, First-generation, or other identities minoritized in the sciences.

While students should submit their applications directly to the institutions, COLDEX leadership can provide application support for those unfamiliar with the process or with specific questions. Prior to sending in your application, contact the listed COLDEX scientist directly via email to discuss the project and the institution’s application process in more detail. COLDEX institutions do not require GRE scores to apply.
